This is NO “tail!” Come meet Susie Pennoyer, a mermaid who will be featured at The Art of Women: A Celebration of Diversity on October 5, 2018.
Susie Pennoyer’s Bio
Susie is a proud member of the “The Legendary Sirens,” a group of eight retired mermaids, ages 63 to 79, who perform at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park.
After being invited back to perform at the park’s 50th Anniversary in 1997, they began performing in shows once a month, and conducting “Mermaid Camp” in the summer.
Susie loves performing in the shows because she hears all the time how inspirational it is for people to watch them, at their age, do what they do, and as well as they do it. She says anytime she can inspire someone to do something they thought they could not do, for whatever reason, it makes her feel like she was able to help someone in some way, and that makes her feel great.
