This Throwback Thursday #TBT picture takes me to a powerful place in my head where in the early 80’s I won the District title at #1 singles at Chamberlain High School in the same year that I lettered in 4 sports.
My tennis journey was very hard… it started as a little girl who overcame 3 major surgeries by 2nd grade hitting tennis balls on the courts and against a wall at Nye Park, a Hillsborough County playground in Lutz, Florida, in order to learn how to play and groove my strokes.
It culminated in playing for the Division I University of South Florida tennis team on a sports scholarship where we beat the powerhouse Florida Gators.
