If you’ve seen “Because of Sam,” you’ve heard Chicago’s talented singer-songwriter, Tommy Cicero, in the end credits where a portion of the upbeat, sports-anthem song he wrote, “It’s Game Time” is played. It’s the song that leaves moviegoers cheering as the film concludes.
Tampa’s talented Shorne “2SC” Callahan created the music for the song and carefully, and creatively mixed/produced the master recording.
This thoughtful, important Chicago-Tampa collaboration made it possible for Tampa’s Renee Warmack Productions to include the song clip in “Because of Sam.”
Renee Warmack Productions is leading the effort as the song’s Publisher and filmmaker to produce the inclusive sports, music video that’s underway during Down Syndrome Awareness Month.
The music video will showcase ChampaBay Superstars Sam Piazza, Nick Altieri, and David Scott as Sports Superstars who are best friends that also appeared in “Because of Sam.”
The three young men also volunteer on GiGi’s Playhouse – Tampa’s Participant Outreach Committee. The music video will present Tampa as an inclusive and inviting destination for sports fans and ALL travelers.
This exciting music video will be released this Fall, along with the official release of the “It’s Game Time” song (get a peek of the song at around the 3-minute mark in this “Because of Sam” movie trailer).
With the Bucs having won the Superbowl, the Bolts having won the Stanley Cup, and the Rays closing in on a World Series, there could not be a better time to officially release the “It’s Game Time” music video and song.
- Day One of filming the music video included fun sports activities with ChampaBay’s Sam, Nick, and David – AND Sam’s cool Dad, John Piazza, as referee,
- Day Two will feature former University of Tampa basketball standout and City of Tampa Mayor Jane Castor in a basketball scene with the guys at Brooks-DeBartolo Collegiate High School on October 21st, and
- Day Three is set to showcase Tommy who Warmack is flying to Tampa on October 22nd for an inclusive, “singing” and group dance scene.
Oh, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers just so happen to be playing the Chicago Bears on October 24th in Tampa…
We’d love for the project to somehow be involved with a halftime or Jumbotron shout-out for Sam, Nick, and David to bring awareness to inclusion in sports during Down Syndrome Awareness Month.
